Trick, or treat, your ears!

It’s Halloween weekend, which is the perfect time to discover our new album! You can stream it for free on Bandcamp!

The album was officially released Thursday, exclusively on Bandcamp. It’s full of spooky songs, nostalgic vibes, and campy horror-show lyrics with a sneaky kind of depth.

In the title-track, a young couple rides a haunted-house, and sneak out of their cart to go make-out behind a gory display — while in a parallel universe, Adam and Eve conspire toward the forbidden. In another, a 13-year-old boy begins to discover that he’s a werewolf. In yet another, a… Continue reading

The new album is on its way!

A depiction of the "Phantasmagoria" Album Cover: A photograph of a couple leaving a fantastical garden to approach an elaborate haunted-house amusement-ride. On either side of the cover rests an oversized carnival-ticket.

The album we’ve been working on since 2019 is finally finished! We’re excited to be releasing it, on Bandcamp, on October 26, 2023.

It has been a long journey for us. It feels like the world turned upside-down in a hundred different ways while this album was under production. But to some degree, that’s only fitting; this album started out as an excuse to explore… Continue reading

“Gary” – Official Video

Check out the “official video” for “Gary,” from our 2016 album, Crooked House!

Their original plans (involving a young couple and a pop-song) had fallen through, with only days before the deadline.

I was a little squeamish about being the only band-member in the video, but we weren’t all available on such short-notice, and Steve and his team were enthusiastic about shooting me solo. So… Continue reading

Listen to “Landlocked State,” the first single from “Crooked House”

Hark! Music from the new album! Consider this the first single we’re releasing from “Crooked House.” I know that phrase, “first single,” is a little obsolete in these days of digital binging. But we kind of like the old-school aesthetic. At any rate, this is also the first track from the album, and a proper introduction to the content contained within.

Our recording setup…

What goes into recording an album in your house? Well, here’s how we do it.

On Saturday 10/5/13, we moved all of our gear into Ryan’s house, taking over every available space for the purposes of recording our second album (Crooked House). The plan was to cut 13 tracks over the following handful of days, and that’s what we’ve been doing. We just finished up tonight’s session on Monday, 10/7, and we have two songs left to record. So, everything’s going according to plan, heh heh heh (rubs fingertips together).

Here’s a whirlwind tour of our recording setup — awkwardly hosted by Ryan, and barely filmed by Eric, both of whom probably should have known better than to attempt anything involving video. (Sorry about the camera turning sideways. Eric didn’t know you shouldn’t do that with an iPad while filming.) And the Academy Awards for Best Host of A YouTube Video and Best iPad Cinematography go to…!
