Here’s some cool news! A friend of mine in St. Louis pointed-out that we got some airplay today on local STL station KDHX 88.1. He sent me a link to their playlist, and it was kind of awesome to see the names of the other artists who were also played that hour.
The station played “Landlocked State” at 11:36am, but the hour was also filled with music by Mike Doughty (the ex-frontman from Soul Coughing), Shellac (a longtime Steve Albini project), Billy Bragg, a project involving members of Swans and Deerhoof, Son Volt — and, well, some more time-honored artists like CCR, Santana, and Screamin’ Jay Hawkins, and Fats Domino. I guess what really thrills me here is the fact that a radio station still exists which actually plays such an eclectic mix. And yet, my inner 16-year-old can’t help but be a little giddy to know that Dachshund’s music was broadcast amongst such company!
