Dachshund & Gigantic @ TreeHouse, 5/30/2013!

Come join Dachshund and our friends Gigantic, who have flown in their Lear-Jet all the way from the remote exotic island of Springfield, MO, to rock balls with us! This will be the first stop on their Cali-bound “Gigantour,” and I’m pretty sure you won’t wanna miss their rollicking smartassery.

tulsaTreeHouse, located at 18th & Boston, is one of Tulsa’s best small venues, featuring great sound, full-on light show, and a well-stocked bar! This will be our first time to play TreeHouse, and we’re looking forward to it.

So come on out! It’s a Thursday, yeah, but someone told me Thursday is the new Friday. Good times and ironic hi-fives all around!

Dachshund & The Big O Show – Friday, 3/1/13 – Hunt Club!

2013-03-01_huntclub_skullopusHe was just a lonely skullopus, looking for love in the vast wilderness of American suburbia. Through trashcans and flower-gardens he slithered, dreaming of the day he might caress the slimy, loving tentacles of another of his kind.

One day while making his way through a patch of gardenias, he happened across a colorful poster which had blown out of a nearby dumpster. It smelled like coffee-grounds, beer-bottles, sardines, and vomit. Not only was it a wonderful aroma, but the artwork depicted another creature very much like himself! Surely this was a sign, he thought. Having studied English as a younger skullopus, he was able to make out the words. It was some sort of an advertisement. For a concert, perhaps? Bands named “Dachshund” and “The Big O Show.” Friday March 1. At a place called “Hunt Club.” Continue reading

Her Face Obscured (2/15/13 jam)

How about some new music? Here’s a weird-but-fun jam culled from a recent rehearsal. That’s Eric playing the simple riff which kicked the whole thing off, Andy on bass, Adam on drums, and yours truly delivering a strange, “King Missile”-inspired story that I made up as I went along. All of it was utterly spontaneous, but it ended up sounding surprisingly surreal and awesome. Take a listen!

Come on out!

Dachshund is playing The Hunt Club tonight! It should be a great show, and it will probably be our LAST show for awhile. After this gig, we’re gonna try working-in a keyboardist, and that may take a few months. We’ll see what happens with that. 1/19/2013 — Live @ Hunt Club!

First gig of the new year! We’re playing Saturday, 1/19, at our favorite bar in Tulsa — The Hunt Club, 224 N. Main. The opening band will be craggy indie-blues duo, The Danner Party. It’ll be a fun night, and we’ve got a great mix of old songs and new ones at this point, so you should come out, especially if you haven’t seen us in awhile. If the weather’s cold or otherwise crappy, we’ll be playing indoors.
